Yutong sets the first industrial standards for E-coating
Relying on the complete bus cathodic electrocoating lines, Yutong set the first electrocoating standards in China’s bus industry – “YES” (Yutong Electrocoating Standard), which is also the top level ones in the world. The content of standards includes 25µm of paint film thickness, over 1000 hours salt spray resistance, anti-corrosion capability and so on.
The global climate is getting tougher which brings about new challenges to the anti-corrosion performance of products in bus sector. The anti-corrosion performance of China-made large-sized buses and coaches lags far behind that of the sedans and light vehicles, and rust and corrosion will appear in about three years. To effectively address this industrial problem, Yutong invested 400 million RMB in April of 2008 and introduced an automatic production line from the internationally famed company of DÜRR, Germany. So far, the line is the best, and latest one in the world in terms of bus cathodic electrocoating.
The production line adopts the full-automatic production mode. Through 16 processes like pre-rinse, pre-degreasing, degreasing, DI rinse, phosphatization, electrophoresis, drying, cooling and so on, the service life and anti-corrosion & anti-rust performance are remarkably increased. In addition, the durability and appearance beauty last longer than before. After electrocoating, the paint film has better flattening and ductility performance, and lays a good foundation for top coat application.
Treated with the electrocoating lines, the quality and production capacity of buses have been greatly enhanced. The setting of YES will boost to accelerate the technical innovation and process improvement, thus sharpening the overall competitive edge of China’s bus industry.
